GOD SPOKE, WE LISTENED
WINTER RETREAT|JAN 18-21
Shot of the cabin. Featuring the one and only Albert Ramirez.
What a blessing is was to be able to go back to Utah this year! We were completely sold out and pretty much every car that was taken up was completely full of luggage, and yet, God still had more then enough room to move in the cabin we were stuffed into!
Fernando dying of joy because of the snow ball fight he's in.
Though our trip was not without its quirks like the diesel van breaking down (which actually ended up being a simple fix apparently), some people getting altitude sickness, and Johnny Cross breaking his clavicle the first free day, overall we had a good time.
Each morning and each evening was filled with a simple, but very moving worship set and teaching. Moses and Kaylee were able to help lead us, along with myself, and I truly felt the Spirit moving in that room as we devoted our weekend to God through the singing of worship songs.
A nice man with a big snow pushing automobile.
Each day was filled with many different activities. Can we just take a moment to be thankful we are all adults and were able to spend our day doing whatever we wanted? Anyways, some of us just hung around the house, others played in the snow outside, and a good amount went snowboarding or skiing.
The best parts of this retreat, hands down, were the teaching and sharing portions. Ryan Young really spent a lot of time in preparation for this trip, and it was definitely evident in the depth of what the Lord laid on his heart. Not only that, but Ryan Deck absolutely killed his devotional, and a lot of people were spoken to through that as well (I don't even have to be biased to say that either).
All in all, though not everything went according to plan, I believe this trip was a total success and we were met by God. I pray that this trip was a time of separation from the outside world and work, and that as you are now back to your normal schedule that you haven't forgotten all that the Lord showed you through the great weekend we had together.
