What Do You Need?

What does your prayer life look like? There are so many things we could pray for and over, but as I look at the scriptures I saw something that might be overlooked. 

When Jesus was teaching his Sermon on the Mount he tells those listening in Matt 6:8 that our Father knows what we need before we ask. Here is what stands out...what we NEED. It doesn't say He knows what we want, but what we need. This got me thinking about what I pray for. 

I have many things I want in my life, and if I'm honest, these are things I pray for. But what about the things I need? Do I just take for granted that God will give them to me so why bother asking? I want to challenge your prayer life. Ask the Lord for the things that you need. 

Take a look at the Lord's prayer in Matt 6:9-13. This prayer gives great insight to what each of us actually needs in our life!
