“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

Lately it’s been hard for me to not be thinking way ahead of where I am currently. By that I basically mean that I’m not always living in the moment.

Don’t get me wrong, planning ahead is also a good idea. If you’re never planning ahead it’s easy to get stuck in a never ending pit without any moving forward.

The problem develops when we try to plan out our lives all the way down to sin. When we struggle with a particular sin it is so easy to start saying, “this is the last time I’m gonna do this,” basically planning out that it will be finished sometime in the future.

The problem is that is we should be taking care of our sin DAILY. We should wake up and say to ourselves “today I will stay away from (insert sin here)” and go about our day on the defense in whatever way we need to.

This is what I think about when I look at this passage in Matthew. We should always be worrying about the day that we are in currently and not putting off our struggles into the future.

So, I want to encourage you, if you are struggling in sin, or honestly just feeling like you are being lazy in your life, try to wake up every morning with a decisive thought about what you are going to do and give it to the Lord.

God wants to do big and amazing things in and through you, believe that!
