Works of Art
a devotional by Brandon Schneiderhan
If you’ve ever wondered why God may have designed you a certain way or why you think a certain way, remember, God made you. He created you personally. It’s not like we were all created and assembled in some factory, we were designed solely by God, formed by God, and live because of God. We see in Genesis that it’s by the very breath of God that we receive life. Without that breath of life, we would be just like all the other creatures in the world.
“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.”
Psalm 139:13-16
God designed how you were going to act and think far before you were even born. He was the one that fashioned you and gave you life when in your mother’s womb.
Don’t ever think that God made a mistake when He created you. He had every single second of your life in mind when He designed you. He knew your highs and He knew your lows; He knew exactly how He needed to make you to be able to display His glory and goodness through you. He did not mess up on you. We are His glory and His workmanship created for His glory and good pleasure. Will you allow for God to use you for His glory?
